Harry Cohen

Harry has 23 years of international experience working with the world’s leading financial institutions: Credit Suisse, BNP Paribas, Vega, BBVA, Bankers Trust and CIC in Paris, London, Madrid, and New York.

For the past four years, Harry has been responsible of Zalis in NY. He is developing Zalis activity notably through a strategic partnership with GlassRatner, a US restructuring leader and investment bank. He has also participated in Zalis assignments requiring his expertise in financial risk management. Harry has overseen the renegotiation of interest rate swaps and their structured products hedge for a group of French private hospitals. He also oversees M&A projects and has recently supported a high-growth technology company in its capital raising.

Harry started his career in 1989 at BNP as an arbitrager and had several proprietary trading positions with CIC and Bankers Trust. In 1997, he joined BBVA as a proprietary trader, eventually heading the Proprietary Trading Department. He was then appointed Head of Emerging Markets and he managed the LatAm business in distressed times (Argentina default, 2001 and Brazil confidence crisis, 2002).

In 2003, Harry joined Vega AM, where he launched his own hedge fund using BBVA’s capital. In 2006, Harry was hired as a senior proprietary trader for Credit Suisse, with a Global Macro relative value strategy.

He launched HDCB Advisors in 2008, where he was risk advisor for a multi-family office; risk modeling advisor for a major risk software company; and managed FX and interest rates exposures as well as equity overlays for funds of funds and family offices.

Harry holds a Magistère in Economics & Statistics (Toulouse, 1989) and a DEA in Mathematical Economics & Econometrics from the Toulouse School of Economics (Toulouse, 1989).

Harry is also a board member and treasurer of an international Non-Profit Organization. Harry, a Spanish national, is fluent in French, Spanish and English.
